What is Review, Rating, Feedback, Comment and Testimonial ?

Reviews

Definition (1):- A review is what a customer writes about your business on a search engine or a review website. These sites require that your customers set up personal accounts with a username and password before leaving their review. Reviews can not be shared once posted on these sites.

Definition (2):- Reviews, by nature, are supposed to be objective and impartial. Just  like the reviews you read in a newspaper or movie reviews on TV. If your  reviews are self-serving or have a conflict of interest, you lose all  credibility. I have never, ever seen a site or a business that had 100%  positive reviews, and if I found one, I’d question them immediately.

Testimonial

Definition (1):- A testimonial is a comment your customer writes about your business that is not posted on one of these websites. Testimonials can include photos and other identifiable information and they can be shared. We created the system to allow your customers to leave an optional testimonial because many people are not comfortable creating an account with a review site in order to leave a review. So, rather than do nothing, this group of customers has the option of leaving you a testimonial.

Definition (2):- Testimonials are written by your customer or client and typically  found on your website. They are like a paid advertisement—YOU choose the  ones that go on there, and they should ALWAYS be from your best  clients.

Rating

Definition (1):- A rating is a way for you to quickly share your opinion of your experience at an accommodation, restaurant, or attraction with fellow travelers. Ratings are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 bubbles, 5 being the best.

Definition (2):- A rating is the evaluation or assessment of something, in terms of quality (as with a critic rating a novel), quantity (as with an athlete being rated by his or her statistics), or some combination of both.

Rating may also refer to:

Credit rating, estimating the credit worthiness of an individual, corporation or country

Fire-resistance rating, the duration for a passive fire protection to withstand a standard fire resistance test

Naval rating, an enlisted member of a country's Navy not conferred by commission or warrant

Health care provider ratings

Performance Rating, in computing, used by AMD

Ranally city rating, a tool used to classify U.S. cities based on economic function

Power rating, defined as the highest power input allowed to flow through particular equipment.

Content rating like the following:

Web content voting, a system where users rate Web content

Rating site, website that allows rating

Reputation system, a score for a set of objects within the community based on a collection of opinions

Telecommunications rating, the calculated cost of a phone call

United States presidential approval rating, a polling term which reflects the approval of the President of the United States

Feedback

Definition (1):- Process in which the effect or output of an action is 'returned' (fed-back) to modify the next action. Feedback is essential to the working and survival of all regulatory mechanisms found throughout living and non-living nature, and in man-made systems such as education system and economy. As a two-way flow, feedback is inherent to all interactions, whether human-to-human, human-to-machine, or machine-to-machine. In an organizational context, feedback is the information sent to an entity (individual or a group) about its prior behavior so that the entity may adjust its current and future behavior to achieve the desired result.

Definition (2):- The observation of the receiver’s response is called feedback. In other words, the part of the receiver’s response communicated back to the sender is called feedback.

Definition (3):- Feedback is a system where the reaction or response of the receiver reaches to the sender after he has interpreted the message.

Feedback consists of a positive, negative, or neutral rating, along with a short comment. Buyers and sellers build reputations that are based on all the Feedback ratings and comments left by their trading partners.

Why Feedback is Essential for effective Communication:-

1. Collection of Information
2. Completion of Entire Communication Process
3. Measuring the Effectiveness of Communication
4. Improving Labor-Management Relationship
5. Measuring the Effectiveness of Media
6. Taking proper Decision
7. Problem Solving
8. Coordination among Various Departments
9. Getting the Reactions of Receiver

Comment

Comment: Comment is a remark, suggestion, or another form of feedback about a product or service. If you would like to give Computer Hope a comment, contact customer service.

Comment:- It is a note explaining, illustrating, or criticizing the meaning of a writing

Negative comments, i.e. indicating what is wrong/needs improving, can be very helpful in highlighting areas for you to work on next time, but these are most useful if accompanied by clear guidance on how to remedy these areas.

Positive comments, i.e. indicating good points about a piece of work are also most helpful when accompanied by specific identification of what was good and should form your good practice for future work.

  1. While I don’t think social media is the most important marketing tool, it’s definitely very lucrative. You just have to make sure that your social strategies align with the rest of your content strategy.
